The elegant Nexus One can be paired up with the ROAMpay Swiper to become a fully functioning credit card processor. The Roampay Swiper acts as a card reader and plugs into the phone’s audio jack, giving you the ability to swipe the information on a card’s magnetic stripe. This instantly fills in most of the fields on the associated app, greatly reducing the chance of human error. Using the card reader to swipe a credit card also lets you qualify for the lowest rates.
The ROAMpay app will work on your Nexus One without the Swiper as well, so just because you don’t have the hardware, it doesn’t mean that you lose the sale. You simply type in the necessary information and proceed with the transaction. If your customer has a listed phone number, there are still short-cuts possible even with keyed-in sales: A reverse phone number look-up is available that will parse the address, city and state data and automatically fill in those fields for you, or you can use the voice-to-text capability.
